Customs between Norway and Sweden via Svinesund

Norway and Sweden are neighbours, but they are not in the same customs union. Our warehouse locations help organise the physical shipment; the correct export, import or transit arrangements still need to follow the goods.

    Arrange this with us

    Sweden to Norway

Goods bought in the EU can arrive at Strömstad before onward transport to Norway. We coordinate receiving, handling and the selected route. Establish the Norwegian importer, available invoice/origin evidence and responsibility for import charges before onward dispatch. EU purchase or payment of Swedish VAT is not proof that Norwegian import obligations are settled.

Norway to Sweden and the wider EU

For goods leaving Norway, identify the exporter and the destination import arrangements. Halden can provide the warehouse handover, while the transport and customs documents follow the agreed crossing and destination. If goods travel under transit, confirm where and how it ends instead of assuming the Swedish warehouse can discharge it.

    Collecting the goods yourself

Warehouse collection and border clearance are different steps. Tell us if you will drive the goods across yourself, whether they are private purchases or commercial goods, and the planned crossing. We help identify the documents and direct you to the applicable official procedure. Do not assume that collection makes import taxes disappear.

    Official guidance

Choose the warehouse for the actual route

Strömstad receiving is at Nordby Kullen 5, 452 92 Strömstad. Our Norwegian operational hub is Sørliveien 141, 1788 Halden. Agree the receiving/collection arrangement and use the address and reference provided for your order. These operational warehouses are not advertised as customs offices or bonded warehouses.

    A practical example

A customer collects two purchases in Strömstad and drives to Norway. The warehouse collection fee pays for our warehouse service. The customer still needs to follow the applicable Norwegian border procedure for those goods; it is not an import-tax-inclusive purchase.
